The relationship between elephants and humans is the most different among wildlife, from the centuries until today, this magnificent animal has shown a beautiful relationship with humans.  Humans have never been in harmony with any other animal.

There was a time when a magnificent creature like an elephant was once the favourite ride of the kings and even in the time of war, the king preferred to sit on the elephant and fight.  Rajasthan has never been a natural habitat for elephants, but elephants have been the most preferred ride for all the Raja-Maharajas of Rajasthan.

Even today, tourists enjoy elephant rides in Amber Fort.  A few years ago, objections were lodged by common people and some social organizations on the elephant ride to be held in Amer.  These people said that an elephant is tortured very badly for riding an elephant, which is very wrong.

The local administration and the Government of Rajasthan made a very good and new beginning in 2010, keeping in mind the common people and social institutions, in which the government established a new village for elephants and their associated families named Elephant Village.

In 2010, the then-Rajasthan government and tourism department established the Elephant Village near Amber Fort in Jaipur.  There were two main reasons for the establishment of the Elephant Village – firstly to provide proper places for the families of the Mahavats who took care of elephants and elephants used in tourist rides in Amber Fort and to take care of elephants.

And secondly, tourists come to Jaipur to get a different and real experience of spending time in a natural habitat with magnificent wildlife like elephants.  The most different thing about Elephant Village is that all the elephants in this place have been brought from South India and their Mahavat is also from different states of the country, most of them are also citizens of Bihar.

The Elephant Village located in the foothills of the Aravalli ranges may be one of the most favorite places of animal lovers in Jaipur as elephant rides are not promoted in this Elephant Village but provide an opportunity to get to know this magnificent and huge animal closely.

In Elephant Village, some recreational activities were scheduled to get to know the elephants closely, and this magnificent creature becomes a very beautiful relationship between tourists and elephants.

02- When you turn your hand on the trunk of an elephant, then at that time a relationship is formed between the elephant and you.  When the elephant starts trusting you.  After that, you get a chance to understand some of the ways and gestures of how to communicate with elephants.  Interacting with elephants will be entertaining and memorable for you.

03- Now the elephant has started believing in you and you also feel comfortable with the elephant.  After learning how to touch the elephant and how to communicate with it, now it is time to feed the elephant.  Eating food is the favourite job of elephants, this work elephants can do all day.  The Mahavat gives you bananas and sugarcane to feed the elephants.

04- Apart from eating, the elephant likes to take a bath.  The elephant village has a pond for elephants to bathe in which elephants are bathed almost always.  It is very popular for almost all the tourists visiting Elephant Village to see the elephant bathed.  If you want, you can also enjoy the elephant bath with the Mahavat.

06- Riding on an elephant is a different experience but the process of preparing an elephant for the ride is very painful.  Therefore, there has been opposition to elephant riding for a long time.  Though you can ride an elephant in Sathi village without a saddle it depends entirely on your discretion.  Elephant ride is done for only 15 minutes and for these 15 minutes, you may have to spend up to Rs 2000 / -.
