History of Saputara
Saputara is a tribal area in Gujarat where the tribals living here during the festival of Holi and Nagpanchami worship the snakes on the banks of the Serpaganga River. Hence this place is called Saputara. According to mythological belief, Lord Rama spent 11 years of his exile around this area.
Saputara is the only hill station in Gujarat located in the Dang district of Gujarat. Saputara Hill Station, situated on the border of Gujarat and Maharashtra, is 1000 meters above sea level.
