Apart from the devotees of Lord Shiva, many trekkers also like to take this 18 km long trek to visit the Madhyamaheshwar temple, which is worshipped as the second Kedar in the Panch Kedar temples. The main reason for this is that one is this ancient temple of Lord Shiva and the other reason is the amazing view of Chaukhamba ranges visible from Budha Madhyamaheshwar.
Trekkers also know this place as Madhyamaheshwar Trek or Budha Madhyamaheshwar Trek. After completing this trek, you reach the ancient Madhyamaheshwar temple built in the middle of the grasslands. According to the legend associated with the temple, the Pandavas built the Madhyamaheshwar temple to please Lord Shiva.

The total length of the Madhyamaheshwar trek is 36 km. If you have less time then you can complete this trek in two days. And if you have enough time then it is better if you complete this entire trek in three. If you complete this trek in three days, then you can enjoy all the natural scenery visible during the entire trek and you will not have any kind of fatigue during the trek.
During the walking trek to Madhyamaheshwar temple, you reach the temple through Madhu Ganga, coniferous forests, grasslands and small villages.

Most of the walking path starting from Ransi to Madhyamaheshwar Mandir temple has been constructed with the help of a stone-paved footpath. However, to reach the temple, you have to travel 18 kilometres on foot, which is considered a very tiring journey.
Despite being such a long journey, you do not need any technical experience related to trekking during this trek. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that you have to complete the entire trek very slowly and slowly. During the trek, you face only two types of difficulty, one is the length of this trek and the other is the direct climb starting after Gondar village.
Although you can easily complete a one-way journey to Madhyamaheshwar temple in a day, due to the length of the trek, you should take it in hand for three days.

Best time for Madmaheshwar Trek
Darshan of Madhyamaheshwar temple is open only for 6 months a year. This place receives several feet of snowfall during the winter season, due to which the doors of the Madhyamaheshwar temple remain closed for the devotees for six months during the winter season.
You can visit Madhyamaheshwar Temple from May to November. But the trek to Madhyamaheshwar temple during monsoon season is risky, at which time the entire trek becomes slippery. Which makes this journey even more difficult during the monsoon season.
The best time to visit Madhyamaheshwar Temple is before June and after the monsoon (August to November) till the temple doors are close.

How to reach Madmaheshwar by Road
To reach Madhyameshwar by road, you can reach Ukhimath from Haridwar and Rishikesh by bus. After that, you will have to hire a taxi to go from Ukhimath to Ransi village.
After Ransi, you will have to trek 16 kilometres to Madhyameshwar. You can also reach Ransi very easily with the help of cabs, taxis and your train. Ukhimath is very well connected to public transport services.
Regular bus services are available from Ukhimath to Haridwar and Rishikesh.

The nearest airport to Madhyameshwar is the Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun. The distance from Dehradun to Madhyameshwar is only 240 kilometres. (Dehradun to Madmaheshwar distance) Dehradun is very well connected to the major airports of the country.
By reaching Dehradun, you can reach Ukhimath very easily with the help of a bus and taxi. After reaching Ukhimath, you will have to take a taxi to Ransi and after reaching Ransi, you can start your trek to Madhyameshwar.
How to reach Madmaheshwar by Train
The nearest railway station to Madhyameshwar is the railway station at Haridwar. Haridwar railway station is very well connected to major cities of the country by rail. By reaching Haridwar, you can reach Ukhimath with the help of a bus and taxi.
